		<description>As far as facial hair and programming, I believe Neil Stephenson suggested programmers did it as a way of distancing themselves from the world.

On the other hand, I&apos;ve seen a recent article that hints that facial hair increases during times of economic stress, with the theory that a mustache conceals a trembling lip and helps hide signs of fear. It would explain facial hair among cops, the military, and elite closers in baseball.

Doesn&apos;t really explain facial hair in programming though.</description>
