oh man, alan moore's killing joke script is as approximately like a descent into madness as the finished product is.

THE BATMAN IS BIG AND GRIM AND OLDER THAN WE ARE, BECAUSE AS I REMEMBER THE BATMAN HE'S ALWAYS BEEN BIGGER AND OLDER THAN I AM AND I'LL FIGHT ANY MAN THAT SAYS DIFFERENT.

what a trip it must have been to have these pages delivered to your door.

Comic book scripts are all very well, but I'd prefer to see an archive of downloadable written apologies for Y: The Last Man.

tylermoody: I feel your pain dude. I'd go so far as to say that the last two arcs were just empty calories. Padding is meant to be scattered throughout the middle of a run, not thrown down in a great heap at the end of it. Epic fail as far as I'm concerned.

The puddle is Oedipal symbolism, duh. Batman desires to return to the safety and comfort of the "womb" of The Joker by fantasizing that he (Batman) will be killed by The Joker, and then possibly eaten, I don't know. Man, haven't you ever smoked PCP while reading Robert Graves? Get with the program!

Damn, it's the one Morrison script I'd already read. Still, it's a good one. Awesome resource all around, I'll be wasting some days in there. With Moore's overwrought scripts, I always wonder how much artist-chafing goes on. You'd think it'd be frustrating, but I've never heard of friction.

And it's always good to see a link to Twilight, although I think it's overrated as far as lost opportunities go. Full of interesting ideas, but there's no way that thing could ever see production.

And my taste in comics is second to none. None, I tells ya.

COBRA!, there's a bit in one of the text pages in Watchmen, talking about the pirate comics, concerning the writer being incredibly nitpicky and ultimately alienating his go-to artist. I'd read somewhere that that was Moore's metacommentary on his split with Alan Davis.

It's interesting to read these scripts and see the level and type of description used. I'm not surprised that Bendis' script for Avengers #500 is generally shitty. I mean, I'm not a grammar/spelling/punctuation queen or anything, but for fuck's sake, he doesn't even know when and when not to use an apostrophe. And that scene around the table... it's like The Boys with bad dialogue.
