There are cheaper designs out there. I put the dreamland design by undoboy up in my apartment and it really makes a huge, blank wall come to life.

I love the undoboy city scapes. Also, should be noted for threadless fan boys that they've had their own line of wall decals (and wallpaper) for a bit. But I guess if you're a fanboy you already know that. There's a lot of other cool things on the original link (this mirror for example), but with a domain like .fr, I'm sure shipping would be a beast too.

This is awesome, in it's lameness. In the seventies my parents had a big decal on the door to the laundry room that read "door" in a bold black and white graphic. So grow out your side burns, buy some harvest gold appliances and relive my youth with these decals.

Anybody had any luck using these as a mask when painting? I don't know how I feel about giant vinyl stickers, but I like the idea of slapping one on, painting, then peeling it off.

I was actually contemplating asking in the green for this, but does anyone know where you can buy this material to make your own? That was my first thought, too. Some quick googling brings up this and some stuff from HP as well as others. This tutorial uses wallpaper and glue (which I wouldn't want to try, but looks rather easy), and some others which use vinyl. None of those tutorials are very extensive, though. Looks like I'll be doing some experimenting!

I used to do this with black construction paper and scotch tape. Sometimes I'd put a grid on a photo and use that to enlarge it, other times I'd just freestyle an abstract pattern thing. It worked okay for college, but definitely won't have the 'finished' look that these do.

Some of these look supercool. We just renovated the basement into a rec-room, and I think I might look into some wall decals. Anyone know how they hold up over time? And are they easy to apply? I am, as they say, not DIY inclined. Also, a bit of a spaz. I used to just tack favorite comic books onto my bedroom walls (in bags, people, no need to panic!), but these look substantially more awesome.
