Eastenders Gorilla Remix

This Gorilla has set off a spate of remixes, this one quite Anglocentric (Eastenders is a British soap) but possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen.

This is funny, yes. For my tastes -- especially as a shamefaced fan of EastEnders -- very funny indeed. But is it really "possibly the funniest thing" you have EVER seen, or are you engaging in some hyperbole there?

I don't see an original in the related videos, so what... this gorilla was originally in a Cadbury ad and now people are dubbing different music in? Sorry to be dense, I just haven't seen this character before so I'm maybe missing some context.
