I'm guessing Napolitano. That it'll be a woman is almost a given. It won't be a cynical response to Hillary's presence, it'll just be because Obama can get a woman in. Americans want a woman in there, so why wouldn't Obama do it? It's change and it's just the appropriate, nice thing to do right now. Being the strongest Democratic politician of my lifetime, he doesn't really need to shore up the ticket at all. Nobody really votes for somebody based on Veep. At least not predictably or in any numbers. Now, keep in mind Sebelius screwed up the response to the State of the Union, and one thing you can't do is make distractingly bad speeches on an Obama ticket. She's probably out for now. She'll be back. With Napolitano, you get a competent, popular woman governor (no lost congressional seats - this is crucial, forget about any senators or congressional seats, after MI-01 Democrats are looking at a possible 60 votes in the Senate and no Veep is worth losing that). And with Napolitano, you make McCain think he has to defend Arizona, so he'll waste money. Forget about Gore, Clinton, Edwards, Dodd, Richardson. None of them make sense. They're just distractions that Obama doesn't need to deal with.

Ever listen to Alice Cooper's radio show? I'm not always crazy about his song choices, but I love listening to him. He is witty, self-deprecating, and as insanely knowledgeable about music. I only have the remotest of ideas about his politics, but I'd love to have a VP who could tell me who was the sound engineer on Moby Grape's debut album without having to look it up on the Internet.

Obama/Graham. Bob Graham has never lost an election in Florida - and he has a few stints as a "big state" governor under his belt to shore up the ticket's "Executive Experience" talking points - and he's popular with southern centrists. (Blue Dogs, NASCAR Dads and Swing Voters) But, more importantly, Bob Graham has never lost an election in his home state. That point bears repeating. If the Dems can lock down FL, they win. Game over.
