Mom and Dad went to the Execution and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. Timothy McVeigh execution on your t-shirt. I am buying three. They'll make great stocking stuffers. Seriously, this may be the tackiest thing I have seen since Grandma's potholder dress.

You have to admit that this isn't exactly something that's surprising. It's pretty much a given that people will try to make a buck or two given the opportunity to do so.

Personally, I'm a bit surprised at the lack of creativity in coming up with the shirt designs. I mean, neither "Terre Haute Extra Hangin' Times, Die!, Die, Die!" and "Hoosier Hospitality/McVeigh/Terre Haute/May 16, 2001, Final Justice" have much of a ring to them. Despite the whole morbid novelty of the shirts, they're not really catchy or interesting in any way. C'Mon Terre Haute, this is your time in the spotlight!

I agree. Those are some lame attempts at creating a stand out t-shirt. As for tacky? At the very least. I would say tasteless or in poor taste or something along those lines.

Hey, any nation that thinks something as tacky as federal capital punishment is just great and groovy ainnagonna have no problem with T-shirts. I'm waiting to see the first McVeigh ass tattoos on TV.

"Tony Lewis, 31, of Terre Haute is selling two pro-death-penalty T-shirts and one anti-death penalty shirt." It bothers me that he's selling T-shirts at all, but the fact that he's got all his bases covered gives me the biggest creeps. I would find it tasteless but almost understandable if he was a staunch supporter of the death penalty or had some personal interest in the execution, but blatantly and intentionally profiting from some one's death is pretty gross. How long until the close circuit TV becomes a pay-per-view event?

It's so typically American that the t-shirts would focus on McVeigh, "Final Justice," and revenge. Why not a t-shirt listing the names of all those killed by the blast? Let's remember the people who really suffered, rather than gloat about one more death.

McVeigh shirts are commonplace these days. I made my own with a pic of Timmy and the caption "I watched Timothy McVeigh die."
