Beat the monday doldrums

Monday got you stressed? Tired of all the politicking? Here's something to help you relax. Remember, just like real life, yellow is good, purple is gooder and red is bad.

that was amazing.
do you know what song that was?

The music has the odd effect of making you not care about the game.

found it: Isaac Shepard - Before Dawn.
they give it away for free on the developers site, which is reflexive.com.

I saw this on Digg earlier. Nice for a little bit...

How pleasant. I like that the wildly inflated score has no bearing on how difficult the game actually is. It's much more rewarding than, say, baseball. Or soccer.

oh my god that was awesome

That was nice, but I prefer a War on Stress to calm me down.
(Clips from the IT crowd, on the last link you can skip to the seven minute mark.)

Thanks for the link - great fun. Weirdly variable RNG though. Played through one game and missed about two yellows, didn't hit any reds and my final multiplier was 52. Played through again and again missed a couple of yellows, no reds, and my mulitplier was 76.

62 multiplier, no reds, 1.38 million. Fun.

1.61 million, first try. BEAT THAT.

suckerpunch: I had a better time. booh ;-)

Heh - 2.3 million, on my second try. You beat my first try score by about 400,000.

krautland- whereabouts is the download for the song? I can't find it anywhere. Do you need to be a member?

That's a lovely game. Reminds me of some of the stuff from Ferry Halim.

Great game, just so tranquil. I usually find flash games a little meh, and whilst this one wasn't much different, the music helped make me not care.

Different and distracting. Definately reminiscent of Orisinal, kind of a cross between John Tesh and the artistic encouragement of Bob Ross.

I feel like I'm in the emotional climax of a Tom Hanks movie from 1987.

Thanks for the link - great fun. Weirdly variable RNG though.

I think it's based in the music, like a spectrogram running off that straight line.

Has anyone found out any more about the song? Googling for "Isaac Shepard" and "Swept Away" just pulls up references to the game. Nothing on iTunes, Amazon, eBay...

twirlypen, you do need to register to download the song from Reflexive, unfortunately. I couldn't find any alternate download links.

well, it's the end of my work week today, so I'm going to file this under Friday Flash Fun.
and it was fun, thanks!

From another page, I saw that you can login with the username reddit and the password reddit to get in without the whole registration process.

The best part of jimmythefish's comment is that the only Tom Hanks movie that was released in 1987 was Dragnet. This game is exactly what the Virgin Connie Swayle would enjoy playing.

I didn't really do adequate DD in my jokey comment, unfortunately.

Lovely. I think it plays better if you relax and don't focus on points too much.

to get the song you need to go to reflexive.com, register and sign in and click on the game. there is a link to the mp3 on the page.

Nice game, shame about the words that keep popping up. "Splendid!" "Amazing!" "Wow!" Calm down, dear.
