The Museum of Depressionist Art: a very funny collection of art parodies, all done with a 'depressionist' theme. ok, i suppose it's not that funny, but fellow art history buffs(?) might enjoy.

I kinda wish they actually were art parodies. As it is (fair warning), it's just regular Renaissance (mostly) art recontextualized through funny captions. A hoot, yes.

I found at least one "painting" that was touched up: Moanet's Under the Waterlilies.

Most of the older items in the collection (the ones without thumbnails) have been retouched for comic effect - and quite well, too. I particularly like the Nightmare of the Retired School Crossing Guard.

Don't miss the rest of the site, with the museum's companion section, the Gallery of the Unidentifiable. The Dear Aunt Nettie portion of the site is a hoot, too.
