Previously unknown indigenous tribes discovered in Amazon

An airplane captures photos of a previously unknown indigenous tribe in the Amazon basin. The Amazon's indigenous people have long been threatened by logging, ranching and farming. Some isolate themselves. Some fight back, changing ancient traditions. Pictures of various Amazonian tribal peoples display the region's diversity. Many more photos and videos here.

The first Europeans to explore the region wrote a detailed account, including their discovery of women warriors who became known as the Amazons. Later explorers discovered headhunters and cannibals. Historical maps show the location of indigenous tribes. Nowadays, natives use Google Earth and GPS to map the remotest regions of the Amazon in order to save it.

I wonder if they have discovered technologies such as fire and the double post.

Sadly.

Funai says it does not make contact with the tribes and prevents invasions of their land, to ensure their total autonomy.

Looking at the photos of the people brandishing bows and firing at the airplane, it looks like contact has indeed been made; what kinds of stories will they make of this?

And are they looking for a better ground-to-air defense system? Hopefully some good-willed arms dealer can seek them out and provide them with alternatives to keeping those big, shiny, growling bird-things away.

Maybe the same arms dealer can provide me with a double-post-alert system so I don't have to fire my comments off prematurely. Good post anyway!
