My sister made me a plate of cookie sushi once and it was not only tasty (she avoided the crappy touches, like fruit rollups) but gorgeous. This is the tutorial she referred to.

Also, it's kind of funny how trendy sushi was/is, which some of these links reflect. The fact you could visit a perfectly respectable department store and find sushi shower curtains, for example. I'd be curious how many people who enjoy "decorating" with sushi actually eat it.

Recently a friend held a party where he served "snack cake sushi". Artfully cut and arranged ho-hos makes for a good conversation piece.

And you can fake wasabi by mixing macha powder with whipped cream.
