Proposition 66 was an attempt to ameliorate the notorious "3-strikes" law in the State of California in the 2004 elections. After being projected to win comfortably, the proposition was narrowly defeated, thanks in large part to the efforts of one Henry T. Nicholas, III one of the founders of Broadcom Corp. Broadcom made Nicholas a billionaire, able to privately indulge his strongly hedonic tastes while publicly acting the generous philanthropist. His chosen lifestyle eventually attracted the wrong kind of attention however, and now this law-and-order advocate is facing legal troubles of his own.
