Yeah, must agree with yhbc here. The cuteness of the situation is somewhat excised by the fact that the pig in question, pretty name or no, is ultimately destined for sausage. Clean and dirt-free sausage apparently, but sausage nonetheless.

I have a very low tolerance for kitsch, but I am inexplicably delighted by animals wearing human clothing. I love them. SO. MUCH.

My SO is trying to dissuade me from adopting a puppy. He thinks that once I start dressing it in cargo shorts and and parkas and teeny tiny t-shirts, full-blown insanity will undoubtedly follow. He may be right, but I say there are worse kinds of crazy.

We have a pig owner in the neighborhood. Lives just around the curve from us. She takes him for walkies by our house, but she can't find a suitable harness for it, so she made one out of a t-shirt.

So my neighbor walks a pig wearing a t-shirt.

It's the sort of thing I'm glad I lived to see.

This looks like a satisfied pig! In other news, dogs in particular seem to be not so crazy about wearing the boots (oh the shame!).

Shenanigans!...don't make up an amusing back story about an immature animal suffering from a human phobia!

Why assume that only humans have irrational fears?

Anecdotal example: we have a labrador retriever. Like all labs, he loves water. He accompanies my SO on duck hunting trips, spends much of the winter unflinching while shotguns blast a few feet over his head and willingly leaps into freezing marshes to retrieve the fallen birds. At home, he runs into any body of water: oceans, lakes, rivers, swimming pools and if left unattended, will try to cram himself into water-filled buckets. But...he will not cross wooden bridges on foot if he can see the water between the boards. We have to carry him, all 85 pounds of him, across docks and foot bridges. We've had him since he was a puppy, we know his sire and dam, we know the person who bred him and raised him and he's never had a traumatic incident involving a bridge or wood or water. It's just an irrational fear, but there it is.

I always thought it was sheep who were supposed to wear wellies. (Link safe for work, I swear.) But I'm sure there's all sort of Rule 34 awesomeness awaiting the intersection of the furries and the shoe fetishists.

But, yeah, adorably cute. Aww! *explodes*

onlyconnect: i feel so badly for that chinese crested in the "about" link. poor thing is already laughted out of existence, and now he's the center of a room full of guffaw-ers!? poor thing.

but, i LOVED all those videos, nonetheless. thanks for posting them!

and yeti, thx for the wee piggy in rubbers, too. i saw it yesterday on cute overload, but it's still quite a fun story!

The pig in boots and the teacup pig are just unbearably cute. I must have pigs now. Can I order some on teh internets?

And I never knew those boots were called wellingtons, either.

"Shenanigans! Shenanigans, I say! If you're going to put little plastic boots on your piglet and put the cute pictures on the internet to publicize your sausage business, just DO IT and don't make up an amusing back story about an immature animal suffering from a human phobia!"

Agreed.

Piglet-wearing-boots: it would indeed make a great label to slap on those juicy award-winning Debbie and Andrew's sausages. Too bad 'Cinders' is an unmarketable name. Little pig, little pig, om nom nom.
