Your Favorite Blog Sucks (Single link Vanity Fair post. Warning: Browser resize)
This post was deleted for the following reason: Not really a strong post. Probably best discussed in the existing metatalk thread. -- vacapinta
That was a photo finish sdodd, but I beat you by a nose....

If fair's fair, than then Vanity Fair is the fairest.
Fixed that for me.

In regards to the browser resize thing - if you use Firefox, you can go to Preferences > Content > Advanced for JavaScript and uncheck "resize windows". Enjoy!

Fair's fair, three blind mice.
Blame it on TCP sdodd. My IP packets could very well have taken a faster route and passed you on the way.

This is one of those posts that are posted to Metafilter just to piss off MeFites. A bit like how the only examples of Charlie Brooker's excellent Guardian column that have been posted to the blue are his anti-Macintosh and anti-internet discussion rants - which not surprisingly rubbed MeFites up the wrong way*: the blame was placed on Charlie Brooker rather than on the poster who is the one, after all, sticking it in your face.
I can practically hear the posters munching the popcorn that they prepared in anticipation of the counter-rants they're hoping to inspire. And if anyone's confused by how this post is an example, look at the mouse-over text on the Metafilter logo in the link provided. In fact: don't, this is what it said:
"Random people can blog about anything they want; why anybody reads it may be the Web's greatest mystery."
I can just about see how this warrants a MeTa thread, but in what way is this remotely best of the web? This isn't a personal attack - your posts are generally excellent, but I reckon this sort of masturbatory masochism is detrimental to Metafilter. Sorry.
*The unitiated would have seen differently if the much better articles: A Long Taxi Ride, the nit-picking idiocy of 24-hour news TV, or Being slagged off is good for you had been posted instead.
