Flash Friday: If you enjoyed GemCraft (recently posted by juv3nal), you'll want to stop by towerdefence.net, catering to all of your tower defense needs. With a hundred Flash games and ten downloadable ones, you're sure to find something you like.

There's Bloons 2, where the creeps are balloons and your towers are dart-throwing monkeys. Canyon Defense rewards you with new types of towers for completing various goals. Your towers can perform devastating combos in Onslaught. Budapest Defenders, though short, is an attractively designed take on the genre, with an interesting historical theme and randomly generated maps. Go for a Tron-like vibe with Vector TD. And there's plenty more where those came from.

I don't know if it's been posted to mefi before, but this one is also rather addictive.

Also, the maps for budapest defenders aren't random as far as I can tell. It looks like there's just the one each for the two difficulty levels.

I just wish I could find something as addictive as DTD, and speaking of DTD, I wish I could figure out how to get past level 32 in Survivor mode without juggling. I've been trying to get myself into more mature strategy games like Sins of a Solar Empire and Supreme Commander, and while both of those are amazing, super-fun games, there's nothing quite like the immediacy of DTD.

I got to this point and was disappointed the game was over....then I realized that there are AMULETS that I hadn't earned—MOAR!

Somehow I was able to get to a point in Onslaught where the enemies didn't even have a chance to appear onscreen before they were obliterated by my awesome tower defense— and this was around wave 150 or so. I haven't been able to get close to replicating it, though.

Ah. Found it. One seems to be the sequel of the other.

I still can't beat the first epic boss in GemCraft. I've tried everything. Argh.

Yeah, once I had five fully upgraded railguns with a rate booster in Onslaught, I just wandered off, took a dump, had a sandwich, etc. When I came back, I was still winning.

Tower Defence games are an addition to me. I have to remind myself that every game I play kills me a little.

That newly posted beseiged one is quite good. Not a lot of levels, but kind of puzzle-like in their difficulty (as in there are only a narrow range of "solutions" that will pass a given level).
