Great post.

Gotta love the one guy in Jodhpur who was all "You know what, fuck this. I'm going with red."

These photos are a pleasure to behold. Nice find, homunculus.

There are a few new tall (30 stories or so) buildings in my otherwise mainly low-rise neighborhood here in Tokyo, and on occasion, looking out over the vast metropolis in one of those buildings I've thought to myself "wouldn't it be great if people would paint their buildings in really bright, outlandish colors?" But alas, Tokyo is a sprawling sea of pale beige and dull gray buildings. Oh, and beige. And did I mention beige? It's eye-numbing.

Those painted elephants are adorable.

And honestly, the photos don't do Marrakech justice. Where are all the carpets?

hey, flapjax, if it makes you feel any better...two years ago I *did* paint the very visible back of my three story house a bright happy blue (front is tile, so I was limited to just painting the veranda rails) and now several other houses in my neighborhood have painted walls and stairs and a couple of front doors in other shades of blue. it's slow to start, to be sure, but at least my corner of central Japan is slowly beginning to get a little color.

It may be my greatest/only contribution to my neighborhood.

the photos of these cities have me torn between a craving for more travel and a desire to visit my friends at the local paint company.

You know, I was wondering how they made that amazing blue city set in The Fall... and it turns out it's an actual city. Awesome!

Luscious! And like squasha, makes me want to put my traveling shoes on.

That whole blog is quite the find. Thanks, homunculus!
