Pictures of 100 poems by 100 poets, explained by a Wet Nurse - Hokusai's pictures describe what the poems do in the head of a wet nurse. With high resolution scans.

I spend my Monday morning drinking coffee
and walking through 100 Wet Nurse woodcuts,
trying to find the perfect desktop wallpaper.
Outside, I fail to notice the rain and wind
are blowing down the last pink of the myrtles.

(This is good, tellurian. Thanks.)

Great. What is it that gives Hokusai's stuff that special quality? That little bit of extra something that not even Hiroshige, brilliant as he is, has quite got? I wish I could work it out.

Also, this is the quote of the day:

"When one selects a wet nurse one selects her (as Hokusai would have said) for her big tits full of milk and not for her knowledge of the poetry of Emperors who had died 1000 years ago."

It is a very, very sad day when a post about Violet Blue earns over 550 replies, and this thread remains in the single digits.

I was just thinking the same thing. The problem is there is no controversy to be stoked here. I mean..who's gonna come in and crap on Hokusai?

TrinaSelwyn, you are an absolute sweetheart for saying that. You too, spicynuts. I have been criticised in the past for understating posts. I come from the not 'spoon fed', or 'stating the bleeding obvious' school of posting. Reduce the URL, explore and discover is the way.
