In a word: So? The "lifestyles" of movie/tv celebrities no longer baffles, entertains, or disgusts me. Paying attention to them is pointless.

Especially for provoking the question: "Why do hot dogs come in packages of 10 and hot dog buns come in packages of 8?"

Nah, man, Steve Martin asked that years ago! But the Warners are important nonetheless.

Good grief -- this con man went toe-to-toe with John Travolta, a Scientologist? Gutsy.

The book by one of the transsexuals is here.

Really sheds new light on Bowfinger.

Anyway, if you're not reading this, it was poorly introduced. It really isn't about Murphy: it's about a con man skilled at shaking down the Hollywood elite, sometimes both sides at the same time; for some reason he's disarmingly open about his gamesmanship. Murphy just happened to be his target of opportunity.

I think I could have done with a four-page summary rather than the whole thing; this is really a local LA story. But it was more interesting than a celebrity profile.

They long ago resolved the hot dog issue, anyway. Buy the bun-length dogs (i.e., the ones that are as long as they used to be before manufacturers started making them shorter to cut costs) and you will get the right number to go with your packages of buns.
