They started out as spritely saplings, but something went horribly wrong.... The lucky ones merely got a little funny, the others became tormented, monstrous. Creepy Trees.

Nightmare time...

I remember seeing this a while back and being a bit weireded out but it. I mean it's just a guy stood in front of a large cactus. So I why do I get the feeling that those 'branches' are reaching down to him and just after the photograph is taking... Shub-Niggurath, ai! ai! Aieee!

I literally fronze when I saw the "monstrous" link. [shuddderrr]

Fonz, I meant. I turned into the Fonz. [Ayyyyy!]

Just saw this blow by in a Digg RSS feed this morning, and by the time I looked again it was gone.

I wonder how monstrous the monstrous link would be without the coloration.

It'd be more impressive without the fashionable HDR fuckaroundery in many of them, which raises the question of what other tampering they did. For example I'm certainly buying the colors of the crocodile eye tree.

grr. Certainly not buying.

If I take a picture of a tree and then photoshop some dracula teeth on, do I win?

Search for creepy tree or scary tree on Flickr and you can find plenty of photos of this type, including photoshopped trees, trees that look like people or hands, and trees eating things.

There's a whole Flickr group dedicated to trees eating things.
