Rasa von Werder is the current name of one Kellie Everts [NSFW], stripper for God, bodybuilder, and church-founder. During the 70's she toured the nation on the novel concept that a stripper could save souls, and during the same time helped establish female bodybuilding as a legitimate sport. Nowadays she tends the followers of her female empowerment doctrines via the University of MotherGod Church, Woman Thou Art God! [NSFW] website and her Matriarchy RAMANA MAHARSHI Mother God Worship Femdom YouTube channel.

via the excellent coisas do arco da velha, and mentioned previously on MeFi by the incomparable madamjujujive.

Google up some Lisa Lyon for another body builder of the same era.

I've always dreamed of enormous fake breasts, but I could never afford them.

I had no idea all you had to do was attach a dreamcatcher to your chest, and dream and dream and believe. Thank you, Guru Rasa!!

The end of Communism was accomplished without bloodshed. It was done by God through Our Lady of Fatima. Kellie Everts was her messenger.

Sounds like Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land.

Kind of.

So...how many followers does a prophet have to have before laughing at their wacky ideas becomes an uncivil mockery of people's cherished beliefs?

yoink: "So...how many followers does a prophet have to have before laughing at their wacky ideas becomes an uncivil mockery of people's cherished beliefs?"

There are estimated to be 55,000 Scientologists in the U.S (2001 est.).
There are 5.5 million Mormons.

So somewhere in there apparently lies your answer.

I saw a couple of her videos on Dailymotion a while ago. Creepy as all hell.

I'm all for people feeling sexy at any age, but seeing her attempt to sexually lick her hands really grossed me out.

In the great tradition of Strippers for God:

Millionaires for Communism

Drunkards for Prohibition

Politicians for Straight Talk

Jews for Hitler

Ok, that was crossing the line.

This article or section resembles a fansite.

That is the best Wikipedia flag I've ever seen.

It's also the worst Wikipedia article I've ever seen.

Today Kellie lives on a 50 acre farm complete with 5-acre (20,000 m²) island on the Susquehanna River near the Catskills. She doesn't show off her splendid body anymore although during her videotaped sermons she does tease with her huge breasts a lot. Without seeing them naked, they look even bigger than ever! And they look real, not enhanced.

That's how I feel about all of you.

Does anybody else here look at those numbers and think, "Hey, yeah, that sounds fair"?

Didn't she appear on the TV Program Real People at one point in the '70s? I seem to recall that my teenage brain wanted very badly to see her naked. Alas, these were the days pre-Interweb, so I've had to wait until now. Thank you, Metafilter!

helped establish female bodybuilding as a legitimate sport.

Bodybuilding and legitimate do not belong in the same sentence.

My favorite part of the Youtube video was "Ok...(puts finger up to ear, as if she has an ear piece in) receiving..."

I've seen Richard Roberts (Oral's son) do the exact same thing on legit TV.

Stopped in mid sentence and said while staring vacantly off camera said, "Yes Lord?". A bit of the Tongues mumbo jumbo and seems God wanted all of us to send as much money to Richard as we could afford. Which God would return to each of us tenfold.

No shit.

Also from the Wikipedia article:

Blessed with a beautiful body, especially her incredible breasts and very, very thick pubic hair, which she nurtured by combing it from age of eighteen

Now there's a handy grooming tip.

I don't get it, are you trying to say Mormons shouldn't be mocked? Seriously?

I am, actually. Sure the beilefs the have seems awfully crazy, but in direct contact with them as individuals, I've rarely met more decent, helpful, and honest people.

If I can be fine with people doing all sorts of wacky body modifications, then I'm fine with them believing that a guy talked to an angel in the forests of North America.
