You think he's a bad father for being involved in his daughter's modeling career?
You hate Aimster?
The world just isn't moral enough for you?
What are we talking about here?
If he's pushing her to do this and it isn't her idea that's one thing...... But I just don't see that here. Weird yes. Tasteless? I can't even figure out what this page is about.

I think I'm more disturbed that her father's name is Johnny Deep.
Even if this was the Aimster's idea, parents should be able to distinguish between marketing a product and marketing their daughter's body. posted by mgtrott at 11:53 AM on May 2, 2001
"She's 16 now and I stay out of it."
Nice of him to allow his daughter total freedom in deciding how much flesh to bare in promoting his company, and whether to be called Aimee or "the Aimster girl."
They mentioned Shaun Fanning in that article. He and Aimee are the perfect symbols of how much, and in what capacity, young men and women are respectively welcome in the high tech industry. posted by transona5 at 11:54 AM on May 2, 2001
I saw this kid on Howard Stern once, late at night, while suffering from an unusual case of insomnia....it was either this, or the E! True Hollywood story....

Now while I think this particular example may tread the line, I've had some ideas about the cult of personality and how that could evolve into "business". Readers digest version: people will come to trust individuals and if enough people join in, the person becomes more of a brand (think a-list blogger). As this person's influence grows, they may be able to guide their audience toward purchasing things, etc (sort of fandom, but on a smaller scale...). posted by owillis at 4:36 PM on May 2, 2001
