Sorry. I should have mentioned that it will cost you a grand total of: your SPAM email address. Otherwise, it's free.

Sure I'd give 'em an email address, but the real catch here is... YOU GOTTA BE YOUNG! I can't get anything even resembling myself. Somebody over there needs to remember something: hairlines sometimes recede.

Me. ColdChef beat me to the cemetary background, but he's certainly earned it more than I.
posted by brundlefly at 7:34 PM on August 14, 2008

If you go the screencap route, you don't even have to give up an email address.

Doesn't look much like me.

Sadly, I even managed to get the worry lines in my forehead right.

Worked for me running linux and Firefox. Well, it produced an image, anyway. Of someone not at all resembling me.
posted by orthogonality at 7:50 PM on August 14, 2008

Does it have anything to do with this?
posted by fixedgear at 7:50 PM on August 14, 2008

I put mine as my profile picture cause I don't have one yet.

Here it is but my nose is actually alot bigger.

I had better luck with the boy options. You know there is no way to get a "thumbs up" gesture with the girl options.

Why do sites always require the most current version of Flash? I'll upload and install a new version, and in a few months it'll obsolete, with seemingly every Flash-powered site telling me I don't have the latest and greatest version.

So...if I'm reading this right, I should be able to download this for 1,50€, which is about $2.50? Is my math correct? Has anyone tried this? I don't want to be first.

So much about it isn't right, but this is the best I could do. I think my mangatar needs more work; I had to resist actually mucking with it in photoshop.

aubilenon, great hair!!

Here's a little study in the differences in how my boyfriend and I see one another and ourselves. I think we might find one another alluring.

That's a cool idea, Ambrosia Voyeur. I laughed when I noticed that the partner portraits are more sexed up.

Ambrosia Voyeur, that's a brilliant idea. I wish I had thought of doing that with someone before posting mine!

Solon and Thanks, that's remarkably accurate compared to your profile pic. thankyoujohnnyfever, not so much :-)

I was totally dissatisfied with their choice of skin and hair colors so I opened up the screencap in my less-than-photoshop image editor and re-colorized myself (plus a little pixel manipulation in which I raised my hairline) and here is MangaWendell.

My spam e-mail is safe!

I couldn't get the ears I wanted - you know, smaller than chimp-sized - but it's otherwise a pretty accurate likeness.

Inadequate selection of ears (mine are quite pinned back). Range of skin tones is pathetic. Not enough receding hairlines. But still, fun, and pretty close to authentic.
