wow - intense, gorgeous & creepy here's what i think of when i hear the term "Ambien"

QUESTION: So do you use sleeping tablets to organize yourself? SECRETARY POWELL: Yes. Well, I wouldn't call them that. They're a wonderful medication -- not medication. How would you call it? They're called ambien, which is very good. You don't use ambien? Everybody here uses ambien.

explains alot, doesn't it? the "Everybody here" part especially...

I feel... the spirit..of snark! Ambien, the sleeping pill, is used as a metaphor for our sedated populace being controlled by corporate empires such as the pharmaceutical industry, while the world crumbles around us. If you don't like it, boil me some poppies. With the absence of sustainable capitalism and renewable energy sources, our self-destructive society sinks deeper into its own demise, controlled by fear and distraction through fantasy propaganda and escapism. Ladies and gentlemen, that concludes our Rage Against the Machine tribute. Phillip K. Dick, William Burroughs, Henry Darger, and Walt Disney All four of whom could have benefited from some standardized pharmaceu..oh.

I was on ambien. I began walking into walls. I began having long conversations I didn't remember the next day. No more ambien. Yay!

Ambien is the only prescription that's successfully combated the side effects of one of my other medications - namely the "I haven't fallen asleep yet. Nope, still awake. Not asleep yet. No siree. Not asleep." side effect. It makes me eighteen hundred kinds of high until I do pass out though. These paintings look about right for capturing the experience. I wouldn't call it unpleasant, but I wouldn't recommend it either.

*achem* so instead of pointing out the obvious and make snide remarks about it, I would just like to say I REALLY like this work. The use of color is simply stunning and the form/background is very original to me. I think I'll try to buy some prints. Great post, thanks.
