Ludomancy: Storyteller, I wish I were the Moon, The Trials, and Night Raveler and the Heartbroken Uruguayans. Flash gameplay experiments by Daniel Benmergui. windows bonus: Stars over Half Moon Bay and The Marriage by Rod Humble
These games have been making the rounds on indie game blogs, but I haven't had a chance to play them until now.
I'm very impressed with "I Wish I Were the Moon" and "Storyteller". The ability to change the storyline at will and the absence of any concrete goals makes the games feel more like little lovingly-crafted machines than games - stories illustrated in 4 dimensions. (To quote a comment on IWIWTM: "It took 2 minutes for this game to reach me on a deeper level than I usually reserve for games, for which I am grateful.")
If you're into this kind of stuff, be sure to also check out Jason Rohrer. His Passage and Gravitation are absolutely amazing.
I really hope the art game becomes a compelling medium for artistic expression, especially with the advent of easy-to-use tools like Game Maker.
Thank you for the post!
