Savita Bhabhi is India's First Virtual Pornstar (NSFW). A sexy, buxom, and lusty almond-eyed femme fatale, Savita, bearing the title 'bhabhi' which means 'sister-in-law' indicating that she's married, is the quintessential Indian male porn fantasy 'toon. Launched in March this year, the web site has proven to be a hit, incorporating South Asian themes such as sleeping with the servant boy; with a cousin; and, of course, the boys playing cricket next door.

The bra cartoon was good until the guy goes "fuckin whore is really enjoying herself". Meh.

Wait, the quintessential Indian fantasy is a married sister-in-law doing teenaged boys? WTF?

why do you think i divorced Ol' Peculiar, as he was fondly known to my friends ? ;p

Hmmmm...no images showing up here. Not that I really want to see any of it, of course...

The quintessential Indian fantasy also appears to be a woman who speaks in Comic Sans.

While standing a big kitchen. Enormous, even.

Ooooh boy, Savitha Bhabhi makes the Blue! :-D Should be fun to read reactions here.

Heheh, Orthogonality, that was exactly my non-desi girlfriend's initial reaction; was trying to explain to her the whole nuance behind it all, without much success, must admit. For, the bhabhi', your elder brother's wife, is actually a very respected mother-figure in ye olde family patriarchy. however, given age-differences and how demographics have panned out, the bhabhi is also very very sexualized in urban-middle-class India; often times, she could be the closest woman with the least age-difference for the sexually-repressed adolescent. A bit like having a crush on your algebra teacher, if you will.

It's more fun, of course, 'tracking' this through movies; for Indian-movie-watchers, consider how different the bhabhi character is in, say, Hum Aap Ke Koun and in Hyderabad Blues. HAHK was all about bhabhi's being next to only Mom in a matriarchical pecking order; Hyderabad Blues famously had its protagonists check-out a bhabhi-figure who kept dropping her pallu. Raises interesting questions on how the old role-models have (or haven't) scaled well in contemporary times.

That said, then as now, I also hasten to add that I don't particularly like savita bhabhi much - not really my style - although I can attest to the fact that it's wildly popular in male, twenty-something, ex-pat Indian circles. Some nostalgia, apparently, for more innocent, adolescent times.

Not to be all "your favorite porn sucks" but is this post anything but a rehash of the Yahoo News/Hindustani Times article?

For example, the forums have stuff that I wouldn't think I'd see in most porn site forums, the SWEAT STAINED BHABHIS thread for example. Or possibly the controversy it has (maybe) started in India. Or the fact that its readership is 85% Indian and the comic itself is available in desi.

Otherwise it just seems like the same old boobies/cocks/fuck talk.

Wow that's horrible art. It's like someone dropped out after a half-class at the Rob Liefeld school.

In England cricket fantasies involve pictures of prodigiously endowed (with talent for spin) Australians being spanked by wristy Yorkshire openers on- and off-side. No genuine footage exists of this either and it also has to be made up whole cloth by cartoonists.

I'm pissed that I'm already the third person to make the Liefeld comparison. More than a billion people in India, and no one can draw better than this?!

designbot: note the word 'virtual', which in today's lingo connotes a cyber- or computer-related representation, rather than a carved or chiseled one.

Savita Bhabhi would have been better as part of a larger post about bhabhis in Indian culture in general, because the comic is pretty dull and badly-drawn.

Times of India:
It's been six months since Savita Bhabhi - the sultry housewife who stars in a pornographic comic strip on the Internet - was born, but the creators remain incognito in a sign of the shame and legal stigma about sex in India.
Oh. I guess porn is illegal in India.

Not to be picky, but I clicked to see a CG image that wasn't uncanny-valley enough to throw off....um...porn enthusiasts. I've been waiting for such a thing hit the market from a geek-tech perspective.

This was just a cartoon. Tijuana Bibles aren't "virtual" are they now?

wait, they have door-to-door bra salesmen in India?

They have door to door just about everything in India, tailors (who also make brassieres, the old fashioned pointy ones), kapok mattress fluffers, gem vendors, fruit and veggie merchants, hand made brooms, cobblers, craftsmen, masseurs and ear cleaners, washermen (dhobi wallah with old coal iron). In Kashmir they come up to your houseboat on a little boat. Floating vendors.

Savita Bhabhi is is no short supply of interesting possibilities, er, coming to her, er, front door.
