Chicago Tribune endorses Barack Obama

The Chicago Tribune endorses Barack Obama.

Notable as this is the first time in its history the Chicago Tribune has endorsed the Democratic Party's nominee for president. (They explain how Horace Greeley doesn't really count.) Their reasoning is rather reminiscent of Christopher Buckley's. (Reported earlier in Mefi.) It's called principled conservatism.

Sorry mojohand. But if it's any consolation I read the Blue from the top down so you get first billing on my mefi. Of course the coffee won't kick in until I get to the next post, but the thought's there.
