Dear Obama Campaign,

I absolutely promise to vote for Obama, and would vote twice if I could. That said, this doesn't cross the threshold for a FPP. When Obama is elected, may I please have my 4:09 back? kthx.

So that's who screamed "YES WE CAN!" into the phone when I called that day!

No seriously this is really cute. I like it!

All this awesomeness is making me regret not volunteering...

Obama aside, the break moves work incredibly well with the banjo tune.

I'm not entirely sure if there's a single thing more attractive than an Obama girl who knows her way around the banjo.

That ain't bluegrass, that's old-timey.

Technically, not blugrass, but rather Old Time music. The tune is actually "John Brown's Dream," named for the radical abolitionist (interesting choice, although it's a widespread tune that has roots much older than John Brown). More breakdancing to Old Time music. Seems like the tempo works well for these types of crossovers.

True dat. But "Old-time" doesn't alliterate with "B-boy"...

You have to admit that the distinction is pretty frail.

I suppose, in hindsight, I could have used "Banjo."

Ah well.

that guy dancing was awesome, BUT FUCKING STOP WITH THE OBAMA POSTS! not every minute cool video needs its own fpp. just put it in an existing thread. this would go over like gangbusters in the charles video thread, i promise.

Every election needs a hoedown.
Federal funds need to be set aside.

I love frailing banjo. Thanks.

This clawhammer pandering will not be forgotten by the all-important Scruggs-style demographic.

So that means that Dueling Banjo's is McCain's theme song.

A G's up, ho's down while you motherfuckers bounce to this.

Not Obama related, but a very fun impromptu b-boy hoedown in the subway.

That made me smile, and not much has made me smile during this election season.

Every election needs a hoedown.

Last month the local (Tokyo) chapter of Democrats Abroad held a fundraiser/get-out-the-vote event which yours truly made a racket at. I think my part qualified as some sort of alternate universe hoedown...

I've got to say, this song doesn't have very imaginative lyrics.

It's almost enough to make you want to vote for McCain.
