"Democratic left"

this is just a cute, timely, civic participatory send-up, and I don't want to pee on it, but something in me dies a little seeing the Overton Window of the general framing of this election succeed so well, given that Obama chose The Chicago School economist to head his economics team.

McCain's palling around with that doofus Gramm makes his entire platform a non-starter for me, but I have to go on faith that Obama is at least as crafty as Bill Clinton in being able to figure out policy directions that will fly.

I Want Joe Biden. Need Joe Biden.

Also, the white kid is fantastic and I won't hear otherwise.

Hee -- the kids were on GOOD MORNING AMERICA yesterday, and I heard the two hosts talking about them at one point. Diane Sawyer told a story about how during one of the breaks, one of the kids was solemnly telling her that he was intrigued by McCain's ideas about reforming the Capital Gains Tax. The only thing she could think to say was, "....but you're only twelve!"

These kids were on ABC news last Friday as their 'Persons of the Week" I wasn't sure what to think of it. These kids go to the Ron Clark Academy.

Digging through their website I found some of the following info:

Ron Clark has been called "America's Educator." In 2000, he was named Disney's American Teacher of the Year... He has been featured on The Today Show, CNN, and Oprah, and Ms. Winfrey even named him as her first "Phenomenal Man." His classes have been honored at the White House on three separate occasions. Ron's teaching experiences in New York City are the subject of the uplifting film, The Ron Clark Story, starring Matthew Perry, better known as Chandler from Friends.

The tuition guide here details admissions fees.

I think it's neat that these kids are so involved like they are, but I get a Stepford Wives vibe out of the whole thing and it seems to me that they are hamming it up quite a bit for the cameras. The ABC video seems like a stage production, like these kids are acting and playing the part in a play that's been scripted by this media hound of a school leader that they've got.

I hate to be the naysayer on this post but something just feels wrong here.

I love how misunderstanding the purpose of a hyphen...

Oh fuck it, that video was cute, though I did get a Steptford Wives vibe from it like daHIFI.
