Remember Assistant Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement Julie Myers , the immigration chief who had some controversy during her tenure and introduced "operation scheduled departure" where illegal immigrants would turn themselves in and who's organization was refered to (in so many words) as the gestapo by (Dem) Illinois Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez? Yeah, she resigned.

Cut to the chase: she's the likely law-breaking leaker of the news of Obama's aunt in Boston. She was willing to break the law to influence the election. Typical Bush official. Though predictably, it was an incredibly stupid and desperate attempt at a hail mary november surprise. And nobody gave a shit. As a number of people have said, the one thing to be thankful for is that the Bush administration is corrupt and incompetent even at being corrupt and incompetent. But just because Myers has quit doesn't mean she didn't break the law and shouldn't be prosecuted. We've got to go after some of these people with criminal charges, really.

I think this falls under the list of things various news outlets and senate investigation committee heads are going to start hearing about on 1/20/09. I can't find the link to it, but there was a Dem Senator who had said he already heard from people inside the administration who said they would be calling with evidence and "dirt" on various Bush Admin scandals on January 20th. I think once a lot of folks who were working under Bush will find themselves out of work, with no place local to find anyone willing to pick them up, unable to sell their houses for a profit, who may cash in on whatever secrets or evidence the have. I think their belief in their party has shattered, and like rats abandoned a sinking ship, they will try anything to keep their heads above water.

Yeah, Lieberman is worthless at 57, 58, 59, or 60 seats. If the Democrats can't bribe and/or muscle a couple of moderate Republicans into voting for cloture between a landslide Obama victory and all the resources of a massive majority in both Houses, then there's something wrong with them.
