I'm guessing there's some sort of meta-thing going on here on how the web site works. Or maybe I just to don't understand what's going on here. Nice story, though. posted by cimbrog at 8:38 AM on November 10, 2008

Oh, this is lovely. Thank you, flatluigi! I haven't had this much fun since I first read Invisible Cities. posted by ourobouros at 9:54 AM on November 10, 2008
Did anyone else see this FP blurb and think "Oh, great, another stupid list topped by Duke Nukem Forever"?
The loneliness engine story gave me chills.
Yeah, I kept waiting for the payoff where the modems are all configured to open up a doorway for the Great Old Ones to come through. posted by mkultra at 10:25 AM on November 10, 2008 [1 favorite]

Navelgazer: If you got chills from the LE story --as did I--, you have to read the Killswitch tale. If it's a true story, wow, what an incredible work of, art maybe? If it's fiction, well then that's one hell of a short story. You gotta read it either way. posted by papafrita at 7:13 PM on November 10, 2008 [1 favorite]
Wow, the killswitch story is amazing. The sort of thing I would have loved to do for my interactive thesis. posted by Brainy at 11:12 PM on November 10, 2008
papafrita: Of course it's fiction. Didn't the "the game cannot be copied" line tip you off? posted by tehloki at 10:46 PM on November 11, 2008 [1 favorite]
