Previously: carrots and turnips, too.

"Cucumber trumpet" deserves an NSFW tag.

Not the link. The actual phrase.

I'd pay good money to see a tuber tuba.

I'm at a loss to explain why, but at 3:06 he totally gives that carrot the finger.

Ha, I knew it, he's Japanese too!

He was pointing, by the way.

Ah, never mind, he's Australian. I didn't know Australians pointed with their middle fingers but then I've never met an Australian.
His hand bagpipe is not to be missed, either. This guy looks as excited as a five year old. It's pretty great.

I really wanted to post a bunch of his stuff a while ago, but I was afraid it was a double when I saw this post (last link). I'm glad you did though because he has other videos that are better than the one that was linked here before.

Hopefully you also caught his demented cabbage demonstration...

Hey! I just got back from Baltimore where the American Visionary Art Museum [is there a post about them yet? there should be!] put on a day of weird music. I ran a workshop on making instruments out of junk, and helped Tyler of oddstrument.com (previously) do a veggie instrument workshop. Here's some photos (self-link).

He has such a likable, gently enthusiastic way of playing, kind of kindergarten teachery. Lovable somehow. Enjoyed that.

He was pointing, by the way.

That's an interesting theory. However, I prefer to think that he's very angry with the carrot.

I think this would b a useful addition to school music lessons. If you get too pissed off with your inability to reach the second register, eat your clarinet.

Would have definitely helped me.

Oh, god. My husband's already in bed so I can't show him this right away, but when I do tomorrow, I just bet I'm going to have a whole kitchen full of tootable veggies. He's already obsessed with both gardening and music, so these'll be two great tastes that taste great together.
