Although this is very entertaining, I don't get the link to WFMU; I was hoping for a WFMU channel on Youtube. Are these all things that they'd linked to in the past on their "Beware of the Blog" Video Clips site? If so, why not link directly to the WFMU site instead of YouTube?

Not on Display, I think, but not sure, that they did public access TV way way back in the early 90s in NYC. They haven't posted this on the blog yet, but I hope someone there yet. On a side note, I met Dave the Spazz here in St. Paul last weekend and hes quieter then he is on mic.

n_o_d, I am aware of Beware of the Blog, but rarely go there because fmu is very hit or miss with me. I usually only see it when other blogs link to something interesting on there. The "irritainment" clip came up in the related videos on YT when I was looking at something else last night, which got me curious as to what wfmu-tv was all about. So basically these clips are what you get when you search wfmu-tv in youtube :)

He acted in, directed, wrote, edited and produced his award winning Manhattan TV series WFMU-TV. Hosted by wfmu radio hosts such as Irwin Chusid and Fabio Roberti, WFMU-TV was a free form variety show of satire, music and irritainment. He has portrayed a frustrated Orson Welles doing a commercial in War of the Words on John Pierson's "Split Screen." Mr. Rudolph currently lives and works in a bunker near Ground Zero as an investment behaviorist. "

That Baby Octopus clip was dangerously misleading. When the monsters stole the baby octopus and beat up on its little head, the parent octopus would *NOT* have run around like a goofy Benny Hill character. It would have changed colour to look like a rock, lain in wait, then when the monsters came close enough it would be all *bam* black ink! *biff* venomous suckers! *pow* strangulation by eight arms *blammo* HEAD EATEN BY CREEPY OCTOPUS BEAK MUNCH MUNCH MUNCHING INTO THE EYES FIRST AND THEN THE BRAIN WHILST STICKING OCTOPUS ARMS UP THE MONSTERS' ASSES AND DEPOSITING EGG SACS THERE FULL OF MORE BABY OCTOPUSES WHICH THEN EMERGE AND EAT THE MONSTER CORPSES FROM THE INSIDE OUT!!!

Organisation didn't really "become" Kraftwerk. It was a band that Ralf and Florian played in, with 3 other guys, before Kraftwerk. They released one album in 1969, and were disbanded in 1970 at which point Ralf and Florian formed Kraftwerk with two different guys (not Bartos and Flür, they both joined later), and recorded several more albums of the same sort of Krautrock-ish stuff you hear in the video. They weren't really the Kraftwerk everyone knows, and didn't even really use synths that heavily, until Autobahn. They've even steadfastly refused to reissue their first three albums (Kraftwerk, Kraftwerk 2, Ralf und Florian), claiming they're "not representative". However, Organisation's sole album is often included in Kraftwerk discographies, and most obsessive Kraftwerk fans have it. They were a different band, though.

Heino? Heino! HEINO I had never heard of this guy and now I am transfixed. The dancing double was pretty funny, but it couldn't be funnier than Heino singing in German about Rio, while dancing absolutely not at all, in a bar full of chunky, pasty Germans. (Although, to be fair, there were probably bars just like that in Rio at the time.) According to Wikipedia, the sunglasses are not for funkiness, but to hide his exophthalmos. He's got Marty Feldman eyes! But he is still with us and he still has hair like a hairstyle from the Play-Doh Barbershop.

Love Onion is no joke. Reminds me of Sweetbaby/Brent's TV (cover) mixed with Great Plains mixed with Beat Happening on a spaceship. Something like that.
