Man who stopped train with his bare hands "was a longtime railroad man from an era when such boardings were routine.... Today, it is strictly against the rules -- sometimes a firing offense -- to step aboard moving locomotives or cars."

I almost wish I'd still been in Bowling Green, since you're almost always close enough to the tracks there that I'm sure I would've seen the runaway train.

Interesting to note that the runaway train forced another train to move off the main track -- that other train being a public safety awareness vehicle which films drivers performing risky RR crossings. Imagine if some idiot had tried to outrun the runaway train?

Kudos to Hosfeld, in any case, for a job well done.
