"It has three buttons on its chest. One makes it turn into a monkey, the second gives it extra strength, the third makes it invisible."

I need that.

Oh, man..this guy looks more like Papa after an all night bender, then some "evil monkey man". I might fall down some steps laughing at him, but certainly not out of fear...Sheesh...

Ah another gem of mainstream news from Ananova. Wasn't this an X-Files episode?

I really hope this isn't a story that just goes away. I want to hear followup on this!

i just saw this story broadcast on CNN(yes, on TV), with victims showing the wounds they had received. so, i suppose this isn't the last we have heard of it. citizens there had been sleeping on rooftops to escape the heat indoors but now opt to stay inside. they speculated that with all the monkeys running loose in the city, that it is merely an 'angry monkey,' yet that offers no explanation for the man-like qualities.

Wow, did the Primautomaton let Deepali press the buttons? Usually they get pretty pissed when you mess with their stuff. Deepali Kumari seems to know a lot about this renegade robot, kind of like how Clark Kent knows quite a bit about Superman and his whereabouts.

Nobody even mentions the fact that he can change his size and (apparently) ride a motorcycle! The alien robot monkey biker must be stopped!

The Monkey Man hysteria has led to two deaths. A man was killed Monday when he jumped off the roof of his house screaming, "The monkey has come!".

His legacy lives on...

Good to see the Indian Rationalist Association in that last link. Greg Egan fans might remember them from Teranesia.
