The first library not to require returning.

"...and as we have an endless abundance of MP3’s (we fucked up and made too many of them), anything you take from the library is yours to keep. You will not be notified if you fail to return something on time, and you will not lose your library privileges if you share selections with friends." In 2003, Conor Oberst (wiki) started the independent record label Team Love (youtube). Offering the latest in the free music revolution, Team Love has established the Team Love Library, offering up all of their albums for free.

So they offer their entire library, but only six albums at a time? I guess that's a way to keep people coming back, but it's not really "all their albums for free".

Also, the Jenny Lewis album is missing track 9 "Handle With Care", so I guess other artists' covers are unlikely to be included in the free downloads.

I submit that Cassadaga was more like a lost Neil Diamond album.

Only on MetaFilter would people snark about free music. Pathetic.

Thanks, Team Love!

He played at my 30th birthday party. True story. And the guys from The Faint came to my 34th birthday party. And I used to accidentally call Alexander Payne all the time, until he called me back, told me I had the wrong number, and asked me to stop calling.

I used to be kind of a big deal in Omaha.

It's nice to have legit free MP3s in theory, but in practise this is much better.

I'm not an Oberst fan either but c'mon, free music, some of it pretty good.

This sounds great! If only they had stuff that I wanted, or, you know, books!
