Courtesy of the Spec the Halls project for Christmas-themed science-fiction, a trio of holiday yarns with an emphasis on heavy use of the traditional yuletide automaton: Merry Christmas, Mr. Yao; Last Christmas; The Christmas Robots.

If that were an iron-clad rule, we wouldn't see posts with the "full disclosure" addendum on them -- but such caveats are hardly rare here. I think it's more likely that self-linking is discouraged in order to keep abuse at bay.
