Alright, I love Super Mario Bros. more than pretty much anyone I know. I have a friggin' Super Mario tattoo. And I love, I mean looove, dub reggae. But please explain this to me because I seriously don't get it. I've only seen the first two videos so far.

I put the music on mute and cued "The Scientist" by Coldplay. It kinda works a bit better

I love Scientist, so I like this, but yeah, I don't really get it either. Also, is the game being played in the videos some updated version of SMB3 (obviously it's SMB3, but I'm pretty sure it's not the original NES version)? The graphics are much better than I remember.

That's the version that was included in the SNES title "Super Mario All-Stars." There's a speed run of it over at Archive.org.
