one of the funniest comics ever.

That kicks ass. Add that to my short-but-growing list of comics to read regularly.

Really? Looks like another example of the overly-slick art/weak writing web comic norm to me.

What exactly about the writing did you find weak?

And what about being on the web automatically makes it a bad comic? I think half of the comics that are published in the newspaper suck infinitely more than a lot of the web comics I've seen. Garfield, Peanuts, Sylvia, BC, and Zippy, to name a few personal hates.

I'm enjoying it... but "funny"? Hmm... engaging, yes. But "funny"?

...sigh...

I guess bwg and myself have a different idea of "funny" than everyone else.

Other good comics are angsttechnology and sinfest.

And Bob the Angry Flower, Red Meat, and The City by Derf. I would like to link to the Thinking Ape Blues, but I don't think he has a web site. Anybody know?

I've always been partial to PVP, & have been getting into Rudy Park of late as well..

Anybody else find the Life on Forbez comics unreadable in Netscape? Weird, they're totally fine in IE.

I used to post Red Meat comics like this one outside my cube, but people started looking at me funny...

Right, I just don't think it's funny. It feels…labored.

And what about being on the web automatically makes it a bad comic?

Who said it did?

Suggesting that comics written specifically for the medium of the web are overly-slick and have weak writing. Which normally translates to "bad". It was a generalized statement. And I really don't see what is overly-slick about Forbez. It's black and white sketches with a clunky website, for cryin' out loud.

You're right that this is an incorrect generalization. The correct generalization is obviousy that Web comics typically have weak writing, poor artwork, and clunky websites.

I just wasted an hour reading the entire series. It's cute; I like it. It's not hilarious, but it's enjoyable. I think the artist is doing a good job.
