My local Lowe's has its own flash loading pre-roll. Living in Silicon Valle is like living in THE FUTU [loading. . . . . ] RE!

This is definitely reminiscent of the 98-01 bubble era when people thought you needed this useless crap at the root page of every domain, no matter the content.

Ironically, the page wouldn't load for me under Ubuntu 8.10, Firefox 3.0.5.
(Firefox 3.1 beta 3 worked)

A couple of times when building Flash sites/games I've had to create a preloader for the preloader (due to the client demanding some kind of unwieldy game or animation), which is just taking the piss.

This is cool as art.

I especially enjoyed how Sony's PS3 preloader looks like the XBox 360's red ring of death. It's like salting a wound.
