40 years ago they would have been streaking naked, and wearing shorty-shorts on the subway unnoticeable.

Matching Toronto (Canada) version, with movie and full report.

In honor of this goofiness, I'm declaring today No Pants on MeFi day. I've already started, though I'll spare you all the filmic evidence in case you've just eaten.

Meanwhile, my 2008 Visible Erection Subway ride video gets pulled from youtube? WTF?

In their defense, it was about 15 degri outside that day and there was at least 4" on the ground.

I don't usually LOL at stupid Youtube comments, but I liked this one:

...was it really that cold out guys? (try stuffing a sock down there or someththing)

If YouTube wasn't blocked at work, I could check to see if the 2008 footage is the one my girlfriend and I show up in. Girl is wearing rainbow socks which had fallen to her ankles, if that helps. I'm right behind her with a bag, and a pair of boots on.

They tried to do this in DC once but half the city got scabies and W declared a national emergency.

No-Pants Day in London would, one thinks, be a somewhat more ambitious endeavour.

If they didn't do this in the winter, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I really would rather not put my bare ass on a NY City subway seat. Seriously!

American or English pants?

I can't believe no one stuffed any dollars into, at the very least, that cute schoolgirl's skirt in Forktine's video. Cheapskates!

No pants, steel poles, and no pole dancin'?

Yeah, I've seen girls do this for laughs. NYC doesn't exactly have a stripper shortage.

I'll be careful where I sit when I visit next week.

My understanding is that it will be fucking cold. Pants on!

Oh dear god, Hipster Runoff is a painful site. Huge text, lots of colors, casual language for the sake of not being professional, and "so many" quotes.

I can't comprehend if the point is to be non-conformist, or making fun of how "the kids" are all non-conformists in the same way. The more I read, the more angry I get. AND THEY HAVE AN XM SHOW. Dear gods. But I digress.

If you've been sitting on the subway seats, holding the hand-rails and safety bars, bumping shoulders and squeezing together in crowded subway cars, you already have whatever it is you could spread. It'll make you stronger, anyway. I just wonder if they all had pants or skirts for the rest of their day. Pants-less unity on the subway is one thing, but I think that unity would crumble at most work places. Again, my literal thoughts crush the fun from an otherwise enjoyable romp.

American. I'm not sure if I should be disappointed or relieved.

I spent over a year once trying to get a woman to take her pants off in my presence, and now I find that she did it on the subway! The humanity!
