*punches alarm clock, rolls over*

Pretty cool site. Some of the first vinyl records I bought as a kid were Sound Effects records. My pals and I would create little plays on my Dad's tape recorder with them. I still have those records, but unfortunately none of those tapes.

Much fun to hit the randomizer over and over. Not very productive, but much fun.

so weird. I was just on there last night to a 100hz tone for my test pattern page!

I found a few sounds on the Freesound Project for a CD I recorded. Great resource.

I Wake up, get out of bed
drag a comb across my head
Find my way downstairs and drink a cup
and looking up, I noticed I am late
Find my coat and grab my hat
Make the bus in seconds flat
Find my way upstairs and have a smoke
Somebody speaks and I go into a dream

The nightingale recording has occasional jet engine sounds passing overhead, which for some reason takes the track from mere bird noodling to complete transportation to another place and time.

I press the headphones tightly against my ears to catch every nuance and block out all unwelcome sounds, and suddenly it's like I'm no longer at work, staring blankly out a window at filthy snowlined streets.

I'm sitting on a rock in a sundrenched clearing. Heat bathes my skin. Tall wildgrass waves lazily as bits of organic fluff waft by on dimunitive breezes. Full, tall, healthy trees cut sharply into a blue sky crisscrossed with wispy white trails that smear as they drift away. I have no worries and nowhere to go.

I take it, CynicalKnight, you're not the rocket scientist who left the "lame" tag on that sound?

I read the news today, Oh boy...

About a lucky man who made the grade.
And though the news was rather sad.
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph

Hm, what's the sound of a double?

No complaints, though, I love Freesound and use it regularly. Nice to see renewed interest.

greatgefilte: notice the (previously) link?

leotrotsky, good point, I didn't, though I'm not quite sure that linking to a bunch of sound effects on a previously-posted site makes for a great FPP. Nothing personal, I still think it's a great resource, though!
