Isn't there a real life version of this story, where the essay was picked up for a book deal?

The file has been renamed due to excessive linking. I don't want to help that, so I suggest searching Google for lm.mov site:rasmusheise.dk The movie is in that list of files.

I just saw a story on xbonesgt's link at the Beeb this morning. I haven't looked at the original link, but the BBC story makes it sound formulaic and absurd.

It's "Mathias." (my own brother's name, so that popped out at me)

Cute story.

The video file has been removed from the site.

A little Googling, like I mentioned above, reveals that the file has only been renamed.

And not cynical at all.

Appears to be gone.

I stand corrected. But one might — presumably correctly — assume that this constant renaming means that the person really doesn't want his bandwidth hit by a Metafilter FPP ...
