To be fair, some of the breasts do have oddly Photoshopped heads attached to them.

2002; 500x175; oil on canvas

More like something else on breasts.

Beasts and breasts. I think I might have spotted the common theme here with my giant eyes.

Here's a little more info

I remember walking past this exhibition last year, but I was too embarrassed to waltz in and ask who the artist was!

This, is my reply.

Breasts. Animals. Beautiful Eyes. Time to go home.(NSFW)

I kinda felt cold about them. As though the idea of a taxidermied animal was appropriate...

For those who thought those shitty Steve Madden ads didn't have enough boobs or dead animals.

Bravo.

I like the composition and the use of light. The use of dead animals speak of the general decay in our society and the loss of connection with the natural world. Breasts signify the mothers milk the nurturing that the world needs to revive itself from capitalism. The dark makeup around the eyes symbolizes President Obama and our willingness to see the blackness about us. Of course the stark nudity reminds us that beneath our clothing we are all naked.

Sincerely,
Ex-masturbator

I would way rather ex-masturbate to an American Apparel ad any day.

Well, the breasts are very nice, but the eyes are OH DEAR GOD KILL IT WITH FIRE.

Boy, somehow this post really confused me. I kinda thought the tits were taxidermy (and was expecting some extreme weirdness), and I was kinda surprised to have girls attached to the tits. Then I stared at it far too long for being at work and all, trying to spot how the girls weren't real; you know, that slightly dead look even the best wax dummies have. Nope couldn't figure it out; they sure looked real to me. Then finally, I figure out it is taxidermy with gratuitous tits thrown in. Ahhhh, now I understand! Doh.

No I thought the same thing at first. The same company makes limited edition dolls that are smaller and have larger eyes and animated features.

I don't know much about art so I don't know what kinds of art I like but I do like this. And not for just the obvious reasons.
hehe boobs

...and yes I know a lot about Realdolls. I like sex, I like dolls, combine the two and there goes my whole day spent on the internet.

Those are some nice titties.

Did anyone notice the girls had really nice eyes? I only saw them after about 15 minutes. Apparently there were animals in some of the pictures too.

posted by kuujjuarapik at 3:45 PM on February 26, 2009

Eye of the beholder and all that.

I think the challenge here is to look beyond the breasts. That isn't necessarily easy to do, which is what the challenge is about. See also this and this. If all you can see are the breasts, whether to be offended by them or as fap material, then I think this artist is deliberately taking the piss out of you quite specifically. As for context, I guess it's hard to find and buried really deeply in the site, but this might help a little.

I also don't like any of it much, but there you go.

Does nobody but me get breast fatigue? I am tired of this sight and topic. Bring back bacon if you have to.
posted by Ambrosia Voyeur at 3:49 PM on February 26, 2009 [1 favorite]

motty, exasperating art, then, is it? It doubles as fap material for the lucky ones, though, doesn't it? Isn't that why all the breasts are young and plump? Saggy suboptinal breasts are just as offensive, aren't they?
posted by Ambrosia Voyeur at 3:53 PM on February 26, 2009

I thought the flowers section was a lot more interesting, particularly the 'stickers' portion.

I know what you mean. I find that a foxtrot or jitterbug, in that kind of situation, can give you the confidence you need.

I imagine this is the kind of art you will find decorating the dank basement lair of, or rendered as a tattoo on the back of, your average serial killer.

I know I said I was going to go but... Yes motty, that is just what I was thinking. I was immediately drawn to the eyes and the colors of lips and hair and that is what I like about it.
posted by SheMulp AKA Plus 1 at 4:41 PM on February 26, 2009

That's right, Ambrosia Voyeur, he's chosen these models precisely in order to be taking the piss out of you too, just as much as he is taking the piss out of those who are just fapping. That's pretty much what I said, I think.

No, I don't think it's very good or all that clever, but as far as I can see that's exactly what he's doing. He's certainly getting predictable reactions all round. Art as trolling, in short (and not the reverse). Yawn.

Except for the babies. That's 31 - present.

As much as I love breasts, I find these pictures no sexier, and no less disturbing, than those greeting cards with the hideously morphed dogs and cats.

And please tell me the adorable hairless kitty isn't dead and taxidermied. The baby, I could care less.
