Some of these are a little odd-looking to my decidedly non-anthropologist eyes. Others seem uncomfortably like the sort of thing that would be chortled over in a parlor over port and cigars.

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but I don't really find these funny, unless mocking people who aren't exactly like you because they're different is your cup of tea. Sort of takes the whole "cultural relativism" part of anthropology and kicks it in the derriere.

There's only two pages of posts devoted to North America and of those only one post is aimed at the vast and well-charted domain of funny things white people like to wear – about child beauty pageants. Sarabeth is right: this is 4th grade flipping through National Geographic LOL fun.

Ethnocentrism versus cultural relativism!
I wouldn't mind the collection of photos if they weren't posted specifically for us honkeys to get teh lolz. I find that to be pretty crude. Or maybe my meta-sarcasmonometer needs a tune-up.

For example, I don't see what's LOLy about this, aside from Harper's LEGO hair and that Petty Lone looks like the kid who was always squeezing out stanky farts in class but would start blubbering to the teacher if you called him on it.
