Every day is holy and special

Looking for a reason to celebrate today, or just a reason to skip out on your obligations? You could look through Religious seasonal days of celebration and holy days , check if today is covered by Holiday for Every Day yet, or keep things simple and rely on a Calendar of the Saints like the Catholic feast days or Greek Saints Days from the Orthodox Ministry Access Calendar. If you like to be more traditional, you could go with the Medievalist's On-line Calendar of Saints, which only lists people recognized as saints in the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Or, if you feel lucky, check for special Google logos (designed by Dennis Hwang). For instance, today is the first day of Spring, and the 40th anniversary of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Knew I should have posted my Hungry Caterpillar round-up before going to lunch.

In the Telegraph, the Guardian and on YouTube, and previously

I was just trying to track down the Berger & Wyse strip from this weekend's Observer before writing it up.

Still, it was a nice long lazy Friday lunch in sunny Soho, so I don't feel so bad.

Well, according to my calendar today is the vernal equinox, Jimmie Vaughan's birthday, and Jon Lennon & Yoko Ono's wedding anniversary.

Oh, and it's National Meatout Day.

*gets meat out*

Molesome - There's plenty to write about the book and the author/artist, don't let my tip of the hat hold you back.

Hovercraft Eel, your calendar is much more complete than mine. Mine reminds me I get paid every two weeks, and that there aren't many official work holidays (though we still recognize Columbus Day, contrary to most others in California).

Well, for the 20th, my husband and I celebrated our 13th anniversary. Sopaipillas for everyone! (I'm pretty sure the 13th one is the fried dough with honey anniversary.)
