Thanks! Already sent it to a friend who's running for MEP! posted by lucia__is__dada at 2:13 PM on March 29, 2009
Any chance they could use the information on policy matching on this website and the eventual votes to generate a couple of interesting maps? Or even logging the countries from which the questionnaire takers come from and their aggregate political views?
Europe *needs* a red state/blue state map, like yesterday. I know it's simplistic, but being able to 'understand' the European electoral landscape in one look, to have something really iconic where people from one state can see how they related politically to people from another, would be so useful in helping the electorate come together. Often the parliamentary elections are just 27 (or however many) separate contests, and not one big general election.
(Oh, and does anybody have the latest on the Le Pen Problem? I recently went to a talk by Nick Clegg and the Q&A at the end was a little bit of a tiswas when it was raised.) posted by Sova at 2:27 PM on March 29, 2009

I would hope not!
A red/blue/green/orange/purple/yellow/violet/indigo/crimson/lavender/navy/mint/khaki/peach map, sure.

But only two parties? Please, no, no, NO!
Oh sure, I didn't mean just two parties! I meant an iconic map in the same style, which gives people a feel for how they group together politically across the whole union. Surely that's got to be worth having? posted by Sova at 5:41 AM on March 30, 2009
