Power to the Peeple (Reloaded).

"What is on the minds of the unsettled citizens of an upset nation in the middle of the cruelest month of the year? We need only look to the Peeps to see." The Washington Post's third (no, rly) annual Peeps Show. (Previously.)

(Many thanks to palliser, orme, and eye of newt for their very kind assistance.) Happy Easter, if you celebrate That Sort of Thing.

Was going to post, but glad someone else did. My personal favorite was the Pee Wee's Playhouse one, the Peeps seemed to fit right into the neon background:

I'd forgotten about this, it was always my favorite part of Easter when I lived in DC. Thanks for posting it. My favorite was the one in the metro station with the angry peep-commuters on the escalator.

Oh man, I didn't know this was an annual thing. I saw this last year at the Artomatic. My favorites then were Peepadeus and Stanley Kubrick's Full Sugar Coating. In the sidebar on the Washington Post site they have links to the previous two years.

Christ that WaPo link is irritating. All I want to do is see what they're talking about, but I have to wait 15 seconds for an ad to show, then I have to wait on a 'loading' screen while looking at a picture of some random person. I didn't even bother waiting around long enough to actually look at whatever it was that was so awesome.

Some things are with waiting a couple minutes to wait for before just rushing in and complaining to the internet.

Yeah, if there is a mirror to a static gallery, I'd much rather see that link. I too backed out after seeing how many hoops I'd have to jump through just to see some images. That is just a bad way to do business. I don't go there very ofter for a good reason.

Why is April the cruelest month of the year (because TS Eliot said so?)...when it brings Spring, rebirth of Christ and my brother's birthday

We entered a peeporama this year into the Post Contest. It was surprisingly hard work. I knew when I submitted it, that it wouldn't make the finals (I made a few strategic mistakes, including creating something that would be hard to photograph!), but I learned a lot. Seeing some of the uploaded photos on Flickr of other peepmongers (You can see also-rans and some of the semi-finalists, although not a lot of them) reinforced that for me, and I only have one minor complaint about the Top 40 picks. Still, it was all sorts of fun. Next year, I'll probably give myself more than a week to create it.

Peeps Show III
Peeps Show II
Peep Show

The last link is a static gallery (from the first annual show). Not fond of peeps but it's great how this brings out the creativity in some people.

...but I could never get into peeps. or those orange marshmallow peanuts. I must have had some bad experience with them when I was a kid. So: not quite the peepshow I had in mind!

Too bad you can't link directly to individual pics - my heart belongs to #34, the Purple Tunnel of Peep.

Spring makes people sneeze, followers of Christ have brought pain and suffering into the world, and your brother owes TS Eliot money.

I'm still heartbroken that mine didn't make the semis. Congrats to the winners, though!

Oh, I really like your BenPeep, orrnyereg! It has such a nice balance of detail and visual punch.
