Fans demand refund for interrupted Britney Spears concert. The show was in full swing when Spears called a halt to it, stalking off stage with her dancers with no warning whatsoever. Her stunned fans waited in confusion and darkness until an announcement eventually revealed that the stage had become "too smoky" for the performers. The Toxic performer, who doesn't even sing live at her shows, walked off stage after just three songs. (Creators of the website) point out that Spears is allegedly a smoker herself.

I don't know if it was because of what was coursing through our bloodstreams, but she was electrifying. We went nuts. And the more we jumped around cheering and hollering, the more hyper and rowdy the 200 preteen girls around us got, too. Parents gave each other worried looks, and before too long, security asked us to leave. I can understand the parents' point of view, but it's not like we got a pit started or anything, jeez.

The kind of evening where the audience patiently endures a 30 minute delay in the middle because the crew assembled the steel cage wrong side out. I didn't know anything about the wrestlers or their gimmicks - other than what was obvious from their entrance. But when the scrappy lucha underdog came out, I truly cheered for him... needing no reason other than he was the scrappy lucha underdog. [Debbie said the future would be electric. I'm not sure she was wrong.]

I had a couple of students (high school biology class) who had gone to the show at the Tacoma dome, and they wore their Britney shirts the next day. When I asked if it was a good show, their eyes lit up and said it was awesome. I asked if she had anything to say to the audience or if she just sang. They said she just sang. I asked what about it was cool. They talked about the circus stuff that didn't involve Britney. So I guess it made some bubbly 10th grade girls happy, and really, if that's not her target audience, what is? I'd really love to see Britney get her stuff together. I'm not a fan of her music, personally. I only know what's up with her because I'm unable to fully tune out pop culture even if I'm disinterested. But I think it'd be really cool if one morning she just woke up and said, "Oh my god, I'm a puppet, and my music sucks," and then did a massive 180 on her personal life, her responsibilities and her music and turned into something really cool. (I mean after all, she can be damn hot.)

I was listening to her album on the way home from work today, and it is pop, no doubt about it, but sometimes it's okay to listen to pop. I like her album. I am kicking myself for not seeing her live, because seriously, with shows like that, it is so not about the singing. I saw Madonna in November, and it was fantastic.
