Milk Information: flickr plus twitter.

Milk Information: Type a title at the top of the page, have a related Creative-Commons-licensed flickr photo and twitter text combined below. [via mefi projects]

The results are sometimes appropriately-paired, sometimes absurd, and sometimes very much like a sublimely nonsensical Successories poster.
Examples:
Bad idea.
Chance encounter.
Don't worry.
Uh oh.
Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

I like this. I would like it better if Twitter added a way to CC license an account and then created a way to aggregate them. Like TweetCC but, you know, something that people would actually use.

I guess the "Protected Updates" thing is supossed to do that but I'm not sure how well it works in practice, besides of being pretty binary.

The breakdancing image seems to be the "I got nothing" default. It's what came up after I tried a random keymash.
posted by Skot at 3:12 PM on May 1, 2009

The break-dancing image is the result of a default search if what you want isn't found on Flickr. Maybe someday it will do something smarter.

Is that a can of hearts of palm behind that Jameson? I feel 100% comfortable knocking that before I've tried it. Two great tastes that DO NOT taste great together.

This is great.

I realized that it could quickly become self-aware after I took a screenshot of my selflink and posted it to flickr. When I went back to the site a few minutes later, my screenshot was the homepage image. It weirded me out enough to delete the screenshot from flickr, though now I'm thinking the photographical recursion would mesh well with the tweet on the front page, seeing how it is a link to milkinformation.com
