Seems like about 2 hours and 20 minutes ago, people just stopped talking about fucking! And then it started up all over again.

Otherwise, it's fun to watch certain words expand and shrink.

Its a truncated graph; people never stop talking about fucking.
Especially if you count the porn spam feeds

Nope, going back through the log, there is a 7 minute gap between 11:04 and 11:11 AM (Eastern)... oh god what am I doing?

Help me out here. What's the deal with #annoyatrekkie. It's just a stream of twitter comments that include something that would theoretically annoy a Star Trek fan, right? It won't actually annoy any trekkies because they probably aren't watching the #annoyatrekkie twitter feed. What am I missing?

I used to be with it....

Well, astro zombie is annoying the hell out of me with it, since it's flooding out real conversations. Twitter needs a "filter out hashtag junk" option.

phew, I'm glad that was well received, I thought I was being a bit ambitious for a second post. *it btw.

the aloha: agreed, but the latter two do require a little bit of work, so natural selection does some weeding after the first month. I read a number of blogs and apart from the odd diversion most remain consistently interesting (or like mefi I can see how it would be interesting to someone) but I don't think twitter will ever achieve this. Once upon a time I had access to live newsfeeds, and the bulk of that was inane, even though written by pros - twitter is like having a class of 6 year olds tell you knock knock jokes over and over again.

No doubt it will evolve into a form of communication which I find irreplacable, but I hope not.

It's a lot like the texting thing in the other post tbh: Twitter is what you (and the people you connect to) choose to make of it.
