Fancy Fast Food invites you to deconstruct and re-build fast food meals, turning them into something that at least looks like fine dining. In this case, Big Mac patties are lovingly sliced and garnished with sesame seeds from the top of the bun. The fries are processed with some melted ice, creating a mashed-potato-like puree. And on the side is the rinsed Big Mac lettuce with three perfect, golden croutons made from the bun. What vintage to accompany this gastronomic ouevre? A wineglass of Coke, of course. The site's brand-spankin' new, but should be fun in days to come.

This post was deleted for the following reason: A brand new blog with exactly one post is really not great post material. If it's fun in days to come, someone can decide to post about it then. -- cortex

Yeah it's still bad for you - but see how good it can look!

Verdict: not very.

This is brilliant. And for some reason brings to mind a certain scene from the book American Psycho (not sure if this was in the movie) involving a urinal cake and a Godiva box.

This sounds interesting until you realize that it only "looks like fine dining" if you've never, y'know, actually seen fine dining.

Much like this blogs seems interesting until you realize that it only has, y'know, one entry.

When you dress fast food up to look like slow food, apparently you get non-food. Neat idea, though.

Still looks like shit. And the site's pretty crappy too.

They need to work on their white-balances. Oh, and the food looks a bit unappealing, too.

What would be far more interesting is if someone carefully hand-crafted from decent ingredients the fast food menu. So you'd have freshly baked sesame-topped buns, home ground chuck steak seasoned with a special pepper-spice mixture, homemade thousand island dressing, maybe even homemade pickles, fancy lettuce (arugula maybe), and so forth. Then took a picture of it. I bet it would look pretty tasty. You could even be all artistic and arrange it on the plate tastefully. Perhaps the hand-cut fries could be stacked like a log cabin.
